We are young farmers in collective. Proud member and co founder of the Raceme Farm Collective. We farm with Scrapberry Farm and Sun Moon Fields and are in community with farmers at Black Futures Farm and Unity Farm. You can find our products at the Come Thru PDX Market every other Monday at the Redd East, and at Seagrape Apothecary and at Luna Wellness PDX. We are always at the Come Thru PDX Market every 1st and 3rd Monday May- October
Our mircro farm, where we grow herbs and veggies, is located in the Rocky Butte area is where we also host an herbal learning community education program.
At the Test Garden located in SE Portland in the Mills Park neighborhood we grow herbs and produce and we raise our meat Rabbits. Over the years we began raising rabbits starting with Rexes and have moved on to D’argent New Zealand and Rex composites. After the heat dome of 2021 we lost half of our colony to the extreme heat and we did our research to find Rabbits that would tolerate the heat better, still grow to be hearty and with some fat distribution. We traveled to San Antonio Texas, my ancestral lands, and sought out a TAMUK composite Doe to bring back and help support our rabbits to better tolerate the changing climate. These are the rabbits you will have the opportunity to purchase as we bring them to Market in 2023. Our Rabbits are the foundation of our farming and soil amending. Rabbit litter makes rich soil and is low in nitrogen. Our rabbits eat much of our produce clippings and what would be composted and are fed a high protein diet. They are raised in larger than recommended wire cages with plenty of resting pads for nail and hock safety and, as we are a small operation, they are not over crowded and have plenty of interaction with us to help reduce their stress.
We use a combination of conventional an traditional indigenous farm practices. We never use chemical pesticides or other chemically based methods for our growing. We grow seed to finish, Herbs, Produce, and Flowers and Meat.
In addition to farming small livestock and herbs we also teach backyard chicken and rabbit raising, dispatching classes and do garden design consultation.
We are available for tailored classes and one on one consultation
