Once a month Herbal Education meets ups consisting of
Systems- (circulatory, respiratory, digestive, nervous, generative, herbal first aid)
Materia Medica: Student get info on 5 plants per class
Medicine Making: Student make a medicine to take home
Plant identification and basics of plant propagation and additional plant walks
Course fee covers materials such as mason jars, menstrums for medicine making and plants, seeds and soil for propagation.
Each class will have time to cover botany, ecospheres, vocabulary and ethics for getting into herbalism. We will look at plants and learn about their parts and how they live in community. Each class with have a section devoted to materia medica for the 5 plants discussed in each class. Each class will also cover basics of a holistic approach in herbalism. We will practice asking questions. Classes will end in medicine making in community and students will leave with as share of medicine. Materials like mestrum, herbs and containers will be provided. Though we are working with medicine for pups we ask you keep your pups at home. There will be opportunities for pup meet-ups during the course. We recommend you have a journal for plant observations between class and one for your medicine making recipes separate from your notes for class.
March 18- Herbs for the circulation
Attendees will learn about 5 herbs that support improved circulation in pups and people. Co- create holistic tonics for pup and human use. learn a little botany and human and pup anatomy and physiology related to this system.
April 15 - Herbs for respiratory health.
Attendees will learn about 5 herbs that support improved circulation in dogs and humans. Co- create holistic tonics for pup and human use. learn a little botany and human and pup anatomy and physiology related to this system.
May 20- Herbs for digestive support in pups and people. Attendees will learn about 5 herbs that support improved circulation in dogs and humans. Co- create holistic tonics for pup and human use. learn a little botany and human and pup anatomy and physiology related to this system.
June 17- Herbs to support nervous systems in pups and people. Attendees will learn about 5 herbs that support improved circulation in dogs and humans. Co- create holistic tonics for pup and human use. learn a little botany and human and pup anatomy and physiology related to this system.
July 15- Herbs to support the generative system in people and pups. This class is NOT talking about how breed pups. We will be talking about herbs to support pups who are intact (not neutered or spayed) navigate heat cycles and menstrual cycles and general generative organ support.
August 19- Herbal first aid kit planning and making. This class will use what we have learned together in community in previous classes to come up with herbal first aid kits to fit the needs of our individual environments. This is the last course of the series. Herbs provided. Students asked to bring a container to use as first aid kit box.
